What about other modalities ? Why don't you do fat freezing or Ulthera ? Can you tell us a little bit about why you chose the ones you did and compare them to some of the treatments you don't offer. Sure Thermage has been around for almost 15 years and has the longest safety record. We discovered Exilis at a Medical show in Europe and brought the second machine to the US around seven years ago. We were very interested in both of Ulthera ( ultra sound) and Zeltiq ( fat freezing) In fact we were planning on being the first to offer Ulthera i in New York. However we heard too many reports of permanent nerve damage. You can google search that you don't have to take my word for it . I speak to patients every day and many of them have friends that have done other treatments. I have spoken to a number of them who have told me that ater their fat freezing which is effective they come out lumpy and they land up needing another, different treatment to get rid of the lumps. In fact the acoustic wave machine we have for cellulite is being sold on the premise that is great to treat people after they do their fat freezing. I think you would rather do a single treatment where you end up coming out smooth right from the start and of course there's no need to take unnecessary risk in the case of Ulthera. Its ultrasound. It goes deep probably why some have had nerve damage and why some also report terrible pain.
Great example of an Exilis fat reduction treatment
Perfect comparison notice the Thermage treatment below Is simply loose skin whereas the Exilis treatment above is obviously fat reduction
What's the difference between Thermage and Exilis. Technically not a lot, they're both radiofrequency devices and work in a very similar manner. The fact that we have both machines we have noticed A subtle difference. Thermage is much better for simply loose skin. Exilis is better and actually FDA approved for nonsurgical fat reduction. In addition Thermage is painful if someone is giving you a good treatment at the proper temperature to get good results. Exilis feels like a warm stone massage. And finally Thermage is a one-time treatment Exilis requires four treatments for the face and six treatments for the body. However you can continue treating the body with Exilis for an even greater result
WHAT I TREATMENT I RECOMMENDED TO MY BEST FRIEND WHO IS A PHYSICIAN AS TO WHAT TREATMENT FOR HIS WIFE WHO IS A NURSE
SORRY ITS LONG BUT THERE IS A LOT OF GOOD INFORMATION HERE ABOUT QUITE A FEW MACHINES They were thinking of " fat freezing" usually by brand name Zeltique. She is a nurse but is very fit concerned with slight bulge under bra.
If you use your knowledge as a nurse and doctor and common sense and actually look at the before and afters carefully the rest will make a lot of sense. There are three or four major technologies out there. Radio frequency was the first in 2002 with thermage they have performed over 1 million procedures. Clearly the safest and the longest record. Around 2009 came Exilis also radiofrequency but no consumables requiring up to six treatments for the body and four for the face. Thermage requires a single treatment for the face or the body. The results are very smooth in fact they are used for smoothing, to reduce lumps and for loose skin and even after liposuction to clean up the lumps. Now look at the before and after's for cool sculpting or Zeltiq ( brand name) and then look at the ones for Thermage. Cool sculpting is great if you have a lot of fat which you don’t. By nature you're killing a bunch of fat cells so the results are going to be kind of unknown and if you think about it logically you almost have to be left with some loose skin if not some lumpiness as well. Don't forget I answer all of our new patient phone calls I've actually talked to a number of patients who have told me their girlfriends did Zeltiq or cool sculpting during our conversation about thermage they said they were not even considering it because their friend came out lumpy. Also the president of one of our suppliers told me the same thing happened to his wife. If that's not enough the people who sell the acoustic wave machine which we use for cellulite told me that every doctor that has Zeltiq also has an acoustic wave because it's great at getting rid of the lumps that you're going to have leftover after you do the fat freezing. Assuming you only have a few lumps at most then a few Exilis procedures would be perfect. Everyone offers free consults but use a discerning eye when you look at the before and Afters. By the way on the off chance that your husband got it wrong and you're actually thinking about Zerona or a cold laser Forget about that ours is collecting dust it's not worth offering an inferior procedure I'd rather keep paying for it and let it collect dust our particular model is the Illumiwave lipo contour which is 20 times stronger than the Zerona same wavelength 635 nm but even ours doesn't get any results. Call me anytime and as far as FDA approval is concerned Thermage is more for loose skin Exilis is actually approved for nonsurgical fat reduction
Exilis before and afters http://www.precisionaestheticsmd.com/before-after/exilis.html
cool sculpting before and afters http://www.coolsculpting.com/before-and-after/ i am guessing your starting point is their “ after “ picture
and of course there are millions more on the internet
unless its really more or less loose skin then its thermage http://www.precisionaestheticsmd.com/before-after/thermage.html obviously there are thousands more you can find
i can send you hundreds more before and afters and we do study and test these machines all the time
we were signed up to be the first ulthera in NY and of course tested zeltique and constantly talk to the manufacturers of these machines thats all we do
what you will find in common or see in retrospect is Exilis is great for a few lumps or for a great amount of fat,, whichever your results will be smooth
Thermage is more or less for someone who has “ lost the weight already” and has loose skin
fat freezing has done a great job marketing and can remove a great deal of fat in one session but you are killing the fat cells so logically you should land up with loose skin
also radio frequency is completely different you are affecting the collagen layer so there is an immediate tightening of the collagen that holds back the fat ,,, with Exilis normally 6 sessions for the body but you can keep going you will not see results till the 4th treatment. I had a dear friend complaining but sure enough after the 4, 5, 6th session she went on to do 3 more body parts
thermage is much stronger only requires one treatment but its so strong that it causes you to grow more collagen beginning at 3 months so from 3 to 6 months there is a secondary affect where the skin firms up and smooths out even more , although we have seen a few inches right off the table as well. Thermage is much more expensive and has consumables make sure the person is listed on thermage.com with black diamond or pinnacle award, that means they are experienced and are buying $15,000 a month in consumables more important now than ever.. I get calls every day from chinese companies offering bootleg tips for $25 vs $900 ( one time use) these are calibrated to the micron to get the right amount of energy to the area, and of course you want someone who knows how many pulses to apply at what temperature,
another clue is Exilis feels like a warm stone massage. Thermage has to be hot enough to give you an effective treatment. we give everyone a percocet in order to allow us to give them an effective treatment. If a thermage provider says they dont do that ,, They have never turned the machine up high enough to give a person an effective treatment. We get people all the times who were getting ok or so so tretments elsewhere.. on the other hand if they say anesthesia, run out the door, total quack ,, you can easily give someone a 3rd degree burn if you are not getting feedback I have only see that anecdotally in the Far East with devastating results.
